soft clouds

Soft clouds float below

Where now the worries of yesterday?

We humans love to worry. Ordinarily we spend much time worrying, anxious, fearful, and these worries hang over us like a grey sky, heavy, burdensome, weighing us down. They dampen our joy of life. They make our life a misery. Yet all this can change and all that is needed is a change of perspective. For the same clouds which seem grey on an overcast day, when seen from above are white and fluffy, soft and inviting. When the clouds are viewed from above, from a mountaintop or an aeroplane, they look so beautiful, like a feather bed. One just wants to sink into them and relax, everything is light. And all that has changed is our viewpoint, our perspective.

So it is with this worrying mind. The worries are born of a perspective which is looking at the past and the future, for our fears are always pertaining to the future and are always borne of the past. But we can change this. When our perspective, when our viewpoint moves and we are seeing the present moment, here, now, the worries just drop away. Have you noticed how you can spend so much time and energy worrying about something and when the time comes for some fearful event to take place, it is nothing, it is a light thing, no problem at all.

Our difficulties are not actually the things we are worrying about. Our difficulties are the worries themselves, the worrying mind, the mind that sees grey clouds everywhere. So, let's change the perspective. Let’s look from the mountain top and see those soft clouds floating below us and leave behind our worries in the valley below and live with joy.
