reclaim ourselves
It is time that we reclaimed ourselves
Almost all of us have rather lost ourselves. We have become so bound up in our personality, in performing certain roles, in society, at work, in the family. We've become so confused with the demands that we place on each other, the rules we have to abide by, the expectations we hold of each other. And internally our ego is always so keen to reinforce some arbitrary identity. And with all that we have lost contact with who we really are.
We have lost touch with the being that is our essential core. And in losing touch with ourself in this way, we also lose touch with the divine, with existence. And then we are forever reaching out, trying to touch that divine somewhere on the outside, looking for god in the heavens, instead of within. So it is time. It is time that each of us reclaims ourself.
We do not need anything more. We do not need anything extra. Rather, we have to claim back a sort of sovereignty, a dignity in oneself, an integrity. If we can become whole in our humanity, in our humanness, if we can embrace all the quirks of our own personality, identity, individuality, and perhaps sometimes laugh at them, but if we can see it all, see everything that we are, the games we play, the masks we wear, the way we manipulate others, the love that is within us, and the hatred, when we can see all this and accept it as part of who we are, only then will we feel whole and not torn apart inside. It is this fragmentation, and the internal conflict that comes with it, it is this that has caused us to lose touch with our true self. And with the best will in the world, if we do not come back to ourself, then everything we do in the world is likely to just create an even bigger mess.
So really, the only hope for humanity is that each verse can find the yearning to become whole once more, and through that wholeness to realise our divinity. And from that space we can do no wrong. For all our actions will flow harmoniously from that integration with all that is.
