it’s all just happening

It's all just happening

Have you ever tried looking at life from this perspective? That no one is doing anything, that all of life is a flow, sometimes smooth, sometimes chaotic, but a flow where things are just happening. Normally, our psychology, our human psychology tends to fall into a thought pattern where either we are a victim, with things being done to us that we don't want to be done to us by other people, or we feel ourselves to be empowered, self empowered, determining our own future, in control of our own life.

Compared to the victim mentality, this empowered state feels much more positive, feels hopeful. It vitalises us. The difficulty with it is that it strengthens the sense of I being in control of things. And ultimately that is not realistic. It is not a sustainable perspective. However, rather than dwelling in one of these two perspectives, either that of the victim consciousness, or that of a self-empowered, controlling person, there is a third way.

And that third way is really to surrender to the divine. And this may look like it's similar to the victim consciousness, in the sense that we no longer feel ourself to be in control. And yet, instead of feeling abused and impotent, with the rather depressed state of mind that that brings about, instead, we feel elated. It's a great relaxation. We become at ease in the world, not stressed. And through this deep relaxation, through this surrender, we come to rest in our essence. And our essence is a space of non-doing. It's a space of peacefulness, an immense space, a space of stillness and silence, and yet vibrant with the potential of existence. And from this space everything is seen as a dance, a divine dance, where its all just happening.
