try wearing natural fibres
In another episode of Things to Try, I suggested being naked. And that's always ideal, from the point of view of spirituality. But, of course, most societies do not allow this. Being naked is usually against the rules. So, until humanity has evolved to the point where our natural state of nakedness is once more acceptable – until that time we need to wear clothes much of the time. And today, I am suggesting, for those of you that wear synthetic fibres, that you try switching to natural fibres.
Of course, synthetic fibres have some benefits. They are more easily made stretchy, so they can fit snugly over the curves of the body. But energetically, synthetic fibres do not go well with the body.
The further we move from the natural state, the more messed up the energy in our body becomes. That's why being naked is so good: not only have we unmasked ourself, but we are not putting a layer of energy-interrupting material around us. When we put on synthetic fibres, the energy flows in the body become highly disturbed. It's very unpleasant for the energy body.
Natural fibres have much less of a detrimental effect. If you are living in a warm place, try wearing cotton or linen. The body is very happy with such materials. They do not disturb the energy flows, in the body and in the skin, and energy entering and exiting from the body.
If you own a place which is too cold for cotton alone, then try wearing wool. It's a beautiful material, keeping us warm when it is cool, and yet not over hot, even when the temperature is warmer. And a knitted wool can also be made stretchy, to hug the body, if that's what you like.
So, if you are accustomed to wearing synthetic fibres, I urge you to do this – to try using natural fibres. Of course, this is not just a little meditation, this is more of a lifestyle thing. Try wearing natural fibres for some time: a few weeks, a few months; or the rest of your life, if you get on well with them.
And incidentally, the same goes for bed linen. Use cotton sheets, not polyester or polyester-cotton mixture. Pure cotton is by far the best. Your skin, your body will love you for it.
So give it a try: try wearing natural fibres.
