try watching a river flow

Try watching a river flowing. Find somewhere peaceful on a riverbank, away from the noise of town. And sit. Sit and gaze at the water flowing slowly past you.


Sit like this for some time: half an hour; perhaps an hour; more if you feel to. Just gazing at the river as it flows serenely past, neither in a hurry to arrive somewhere else, nor reluctant to flow. Allow your mind to become quiet. And feel this flow of the water as the flow of your own life.


For we too need be in no hurry to arrive somewhere else. Nor need we cling to where we are, reluctant to move. Life is naturally a flow for all beings, for all things. We should allow this flow in our life. Enjoy it.


So allow the wisdom of the flowing river to enter your heart. Feel it as yourself. And relax.
