try not wearing underwear
I've heard that artists do not wear underwear. I don't know how generally true that is. But I certainly know some artists who do not wear underwear. And I can understand why it might be appropriate for artists not to wear underwear.
Underwear contains and constrains our sexual energy. Those parts of our body which are to do with sex are deemed by society to be very private, must be kept hidden at all times. And of course, in many societies, we have been taught that sex is bad. So all the more reason to cover up our genitals.
And yet sex energy is really our creative energy. And by hiding our sex in shame, we are dampening our creativity. Of course, in public, we probably have to wear some clothes. But by leaving out the underwear, the sex is more free. The sex energy within us will flow more readily. And with it, our creativity will be stronger, flowing more easily as well.
And creativity is part of our spiritual being. We are not mere machines. And when we allow our creativity to flow, we become more in touch with our intuition, our spontaneity, and with our essence.
For the source from which we stem is pure creativity itself. How else does this amazing existence come into being? It is pure creation, day by day, moment by moment. And if we really want to be creative, as an artist or just as a human being, we need to be in touch with our essence, with the source. And energetically, we can aid this immensely by allowing our creative energy, our sex energy, to flow freely.
So why not give it a try? Try not wearing underwear for a few days. See how it feels. It's also good, if you try this, to wear loose clothing, so that the genitals feel like they have some space. If you are a woman, then a skirt or dress is best, or very loose fitting trousers, like Ali Baba trousers. As a man, you can also wear such loose fitting trousers. I like Thai fisherman pants – plenty of space in there – or robes, which are no more than a dress for men. Or you could try a kilt; anything that allows the genitals a sense of freedom.
Try it and take notice of your creativity, and how your body feels, when its energies are allowed to flow unabated.
