try going into the mountains

Different environments carry different energy. And our body, our being, responds to these energies. And some environments are particularly conducive to a deepening of our being and our consciousness. The mountains are one such environment, which can help greatly on our spiritual journey.

In the mountains, human activity and influence is usually limited. And the air is clean and the water too. And the mountains themselves carry a timeless quality. Eternity seems to be found more easily here. And without the chaos of human activity, we can come to find stillness, and silence, and of course, a great spaciousness. When these are present in the outer world, our inner essence resonates; and we can feel the silence, the stillness, the spaciousness, on the inside as well as the outside.

And all of this is so simple in the mountains: away from traffic, away from too many people, away from machinery, away from that hectic life that we humans have created for ourselves in the cities and the towns.

For me, the mountains also carry a majesty, a grandeur, a nobility. And when we begin to recognise this in the outer world, again, something deep within us resonates. For our divinity is also noble, majestic, grand – as incorruptible as the mountains. This is who we are, in our deepest essence. And we can feel it so much more easily in the mountains.

So go into the mountains. And spend some time there – some days, some weeks. Allow the mountains to work their magic on you. You need to do absolutely nothing except be there.
