suchness
Suchness. What can we say of suchness? It can be felt, all around, in the still leaves hanging from the tree; in the even stiller water on the lake; in the smell of the rosebud; in the touch of damp grass underfoot. When the mind is still, this suchness can be felt all around, outside and within.
It’s an energy, a potential, an aliveness, a vitality. But the rational mind can know nothing of it. It is not for the thinking mind to understand. It cannot be comprehended in words. Suchness is the pure mystery of life. To feel it, all that is needed is a still mind, a silent mind. In the space of that silence, this essential energy of existence is clearly seen. It is felt, as a vibrancy; as a potential; as the energy of existence waiting to manifest in a thousand forms.
It is the energy that brings us all alive. It is the energy that brings us into being. Once you start to sense it, you will not worry about rational things as much as you do, for this mystical essence is so beautiful. It knows no bounds, no restrictions. It is everywhere. It is everywhere all the time, if the truth be known.
Yet we are too busy to feel it, to see it, as we go around in our hectic, manic lives; never pausing just to be and to enjoy the being of existence reaching us with its suchness, the suchness of all things. It is this that unites us, this source of all that is, including you and me. Ah, to feel it is bliss. And to feel it we only need to be still for a moment, to be silent for a moment.
Suchness, the suchness of it all.
