eternity

Eternity can be felt in a moment; in this moment.

And in the spiritual world, in the spiritual life, this is the meaning of eternity. It has nothing to do with living forever and forever. No. You can find eternity but you can only find it now, in the moment. And this feeling of eternity comes when time has dropped away. And then the whole of time is felt in the moment; just as the whole of space is felt here.

So to live in eternity, one only needs to live in the present moment, fully, totally; not worrying about the future; not clinging onto the past; but here, right now, in this moment, allowing time to drop away; being present. Then the whole of eternity can be felt within you. And this timelessness, this timelessness carries with it a peacefulness, a restfulness.

And how to live this timeless, eternal moment? To begin with, just become aware that the future exists only as thoughts, as a fantasy in your mind. And the past exists only as memories in your mind. The past and the future have no reality except as objects of the mind: there is no outward reality; no objective reality. Whereas the present moment can be directly perceived, directly felt, directly lived, without need for mind objects at all.

It is in this direct living of life, this being, that timelessness arises, that eternity comes into being. And this is why the wise ones say that your essence is eternal; your being is eternal. It is a timeless being. It does not exist in time; that is the realm of the thinking mind. Your being is a timeless being. And in that timelessness, the whole of eternity is felt; the energy of eternity. So allow your thinking mind to become still. Move into your being. And when your energy is there, still and silent, the spaciousness and the eternity will be felt, will be lived. For that is your essence.
