twilight
The sun has set some while ago, and I am in some woods. The light is getting low. And in this dimming twilight the wood has taken on a magical feel. It's somewhat dreamlike, mysterious.
The bright light of day sometimes makes things seem simple and clear, but in this half light that feeling has gone. And my being is drawn back into more primitive times: times when we lived from instinct, not from complicated knowledge. And in this instinctive world, everything is mysterious, in its very nature. Every tree is a magical being. Every leaf hangs poised. And even the sandy ground beneath my feet is imbued with its own life force. And standing here, the leaves, the trees, the sandy soil, is felt as one interconnected whole. And I too, am slowly, mysteriously, entwined in this oneness. It has engulfed me. I have melted into it, all thanks to the mystery, revealed by the twilight.
