ocean breeze

Here in Goa there is often a breeze blowing in from the ocean. Earlier I was walking on the beach here. There was just such a breeze, in itself vitalising, refreshing. And perhaps because I was relaxed, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze, I must have been a little open. At one point there was a sudden gust, a moment of stronger wind, as if the ocean itself were blowing in my direction. And this gust of wind didn't just pass me by. It blew right through me. I could feel it inside my body. Waves of cleansing energy rippled through me.

It was a beautiful moment, a moment where the breeze, the ocean, and myself, were all connected. And that's how it is. That's the reality of our existence. We're not impervious. We're not impenetrable. And an ocean breeze can pass right through us, just like a cosmic ray. And usually we don't notice it, we don't feel it, because we don't allow ourselves to feel it. We don't admit it. That doesn't change the reality of it, though.

We are not separate from the breeze. And we are not separate from the ocean whence the breeze comes.
