attitudes introduction
In this series of talks, I'm going to be looking at various attitudes that it is beneficial for us to develop as we undertake our spiritual exploration. I touched on this in the What's It All About series, possibly elsewhere too. I feel, though, that this subject does warrant a little series on its own.
And here's why. As we go through life, we tend to be striving, seeking, wanting things, making effort to get them. And a large part of the spiritual journey is about relaxing from that state of striving into a state of rest, a state of peace and a state of non-doing. However, if we jump into non-doing straight away, nothing much will change for us.
And so, to begin with at least, we need to be doing a certain amount, putting some effort into our spiritual quest. And developing these attitudes is really an important part of that stage of half-doing.
In each of the following episodes, I'll be looking at one such attitude that I feel is beneficial for us on our spiritual journey. And even setting spirituality aside, these attitudes lead to a healthier, more balanced, more harmonious life.
